Our Uni+ed Team Member Resource Group for LGBTQ+ people and allies volunteered at Project 150 last week to support its mission to help homeless, displaced and disadvantaged teens stay in school and graduate. Team Members sorted and stocked donated items at the organization’s Betty’s Boutique, where teens can shop for food, clothing, hygiene products and school supplies for free.

Last Friday, we co-presented the Nevada Youth Homelessness Summit with Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, which featured a variety of insightful and inspiring sessions to help statewide leaders address the rising rates of youth homelessness in Nevada. Our ED of corporate communications Kristin Koca kicked off an action-packed day, asking the critical question: How do we help the thousands of young people who today have no place to call home, and tonight, no bed of their own? Arash Ghafoori, CEO of NPHY, gave an update on The Movement to End Youth Homelessness, including its 2025 goals, and a group of young leaders with lived experience of homelessness gave voice to the youth experiencing homelessness by outlining a series of focus group sessions designed to capture insights for the forthcoming statewide plan to end youth homelessness. A panel of decision-makers at the state, county and local levels outlined key issues and how to work with lawmakers on policy updates, and the powerful Igniting Change: Youth Fashion and Art Showcases brought home the day’s purpose the with an impactful display of creative and meaningful pieces that represented their stories. To learn about the Summit, view presentations as they are posted in the coming weeks and get involved in the Movement to End Youth Homelessness, visit https://brnw.ch/21wOC3P.
