Latham Centers, Inc.

I would like to stop and reflect on my time at Latham Centers, Inc. this summer. Latham is a haven for individuals with Prader Willi Syndrome and other complex intellectual disabilities. With round the clock support, food security, and a vast array of activities, Latham provides unprecedented care for their students. To say the very least, working at Latham was a powerful experience for me. Working a marketing internship, I helped create content of the students, showcasing how much of an impact Latham has. It was heartwarming to find out how much families and friends appreciated to see that their children were in good hands. Huge thank you to Ashley Bulger for taking me under her wing and sharing invaluable insights into reaching and connecting with target audiences. I will never forget the outings, especially the seal watch! Additionally, to Gerry Pouliot for fostering such a supportive and positive office culture, and always with a smile. Also, thank you to the clinical department for letting me shadow, explaining the steps the students have made and continue to make through the sessions. I would highly recommend working at Latham as it is a very supportive environment. The staff here really work as a team and are super kind and helpful making Latham such an amazing place! Combining my interest in special education curriculum and educational law and policy, I am thrilled to work with the Latham Centers, Inc. as an Education Intern this summer. The Latham Centers is a nationally renowned residential school for students with disabilities, specializing in supporting students with Prader-Willi syndrome. While providing a safe and enriching summer experience to the students, I will be growing my knowledge of designing and implementing an Individualized Education Program as well as assisting in designing the curriculum for the summer months. I cannot wait to get started!
