  • Last week, we had the privilege of facilitating a dynamic, action-driven workshop on leading change management for the truly exceptional team at King Animal Hospital. From diving into real-world scenarios to engaging in interactive activities tailored to their unique challenges, this team embraced the concepts with enthusiasm and commitment to growth. We focused on making change management concepts stick through: ✔️ 𝟗𝟎% 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬-𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: Activities that connected theory to their daily operations ✔️ 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Problem-solving together to uncover solutions that fit their organization ✔️ 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Ensuring the lessons weren't just abstract ideas but actionable strategies What makes this team stand out isn't just their dedication to growth; it's their broader vision for innovation. Their commitment to successful change management will not only empower their team but will also create lasting benefits for their entire community as they revolutionize pet care and set a new standard for the veterinary industry. A big thank you to Tracy E. Jones, MBA for bringing us on board for this collaboration, and to all of the team participating in our Pinnacle Path to Change program: Jason Keown, Heather McCourt, Mara Anderson, Dr. Darryl Bonder, Dr. Annatasha Bartel, Daniela Gaudio, Tammy Brumwell. 💚 _______________________________ Change is relevant to everyone. • Education is often seen as filling minds with information, but its true essence lies in something much deeper. The word education comes from the Latin word 𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆, meaning "to draw out." At LaTour Leadership Academy, this idea forms the foundation of everything we do. We believe that within each person lies 𝐚 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝. Our approach flips the traditional model of learning. Instead of imposing knowledge from the outside in, we empower leaders to uncover and develop the greatness already within them. ✨ Every leader brings something extraordinary to the table. We focus on helping you identify and cultivate your strengths, so you can lead with confidence and authenticity. ✨ True growth comes when people feel ownership of their journey. Our leadership programs and coaching encourage reflection, curiosity, and exploration, giving you the tools to unlock your full potential. ✨ When individuals are empowered to express their unique gifts, everyone benefits. We foster a culture where sharing and collaboration amplify everyone’s growth and innovation. We are not here to simply teach skills or provide answers. Instead, we guide leaders to ask better questions, discover their passions, and make meaningful contributions to the world. This is education as it was always meant to be — an act of drawing out the brilliance that already exists within. Whether you're just beginning your leadership journey or looking to refine your approach, LaTour Leadership Academy is designed to help you see and share your own potential in transformative ways. Together, we can draw out what makes you truly remarkable and equip you to make an impact wherever you lead. Are you ready to explore the leader inside you? Let’s start the journey together: https://lnkd.in/dF9KHpvx #LeadershipDevelopment #Leaders #LeadershipCoaching #ProfessionalDevelopment #PeopleSkills #LearningAndDevelopment #LaTourLeadershipAcademy

  • As the year winds down, leaders must look ahead and envision the future. According to McKinsey, teams with clear objectives are 3.5 times more likely to outperform their peers. Here’s how to ensure your team starts strong: 🎉 Host a "Reflect and Reset" Workshop Set aside time for a year-end session where your team reviews past successes and brainstorms fresh ideas. Use prompts like, "What was our biggest lesson in 2024?" to spark discussion. 🎉 Introduce a Creative Goal-Setting Format Try a reverse vision board: Instead of cutting out future aspirations, gather images and words representing past achievements. This exercise celebrates wins while paving the way for new goals. Need a place to start for setting goals? Grab our free NICE, SMART goals framework here: https://lnkd.in/dv6C6kVp 🎉 Assign Accountability Partners Pair team members to help each other stay on track with 2025 objectives. This method fosters collaboration and boosts the likelihood of goal completion. A proactive approach to the new year ensures your team hits the ground running with clarity, energy, and purpose. #HappyNewYear #2025Goals #FutureIsBright #LeadershipVision #SeniorLeaders #MiddleManagement #FirstLineManagers #NewManagers #LaTourLeadershipAcademy

  • The holidays are a double-edged sword — exciting yet stressful. A 2022 Gallup poll found that 44% of team members feel more stress during this season. Leaders can help alleviate this with intentional actions: ⛄ Implement a "Tech-Free Holiday Hour" Set aside one hour each day where emails and Slack messages are off-limits, or take it a step further with an entire "No-Meeting Day." This simple practice empowers your team to unplug, focus, and recharge. ⛄Send a Holiday Self-Care Kit Surprise your team with a virtual or physical self-care package. Include items like stress balls, meditation app subscriptions, or even personalized playlists. ⛄Plan a "Season of Giving" Challenge Encourage your team to perform small acts of kindness, like donating to a charity or writing thank-you notes. This boosts morale and shifts focus away from stress. Take some of the mental load off their plate by coordinating the giving yourself (bonus points for finding a charity that resonates with your team's mission!), but be mindful not to pressure team members to contribute a specific amount or participate if it’s not feasible for them — support comes in many forms. ☃️ By prioritizing well-being, you’re not only showing care but also increasing your team’s resilience and productivity. #SnowDay #Frosty #Song #Classics #Holidays #Leadership #Wellbeing #SelfCare #LaTourLeadershipAcademy

  • The holiday season offers a prime opportunity for leaders to strengthen their team’s morale through gratitude. Not only does gratitude improve relationships, but studies also show it can enhance workplace performance. According to a 2021 survey by Workhuman, 79% of team members who receive regular recognition feel a stronger sense of belonging. Here’s how to make gratitude a meaningful part of your holiday leadership: 🎄 Rather than a generic acknowledgment, carve out time in team meetings to highlight individual contributions. For instance, you might say, "Jessica’s innovation on Project X helped us meet our Q4 goals." These specific acknowledgments demonstrate that you notice and value unique contributions. And when you use the SBI method of feedback, you'll articulate the positive feedback in just the right way so they truly understand the impact of what they did. Grab a *free template* for how to deliver your appreciation in just the right way by clicking here: https://lnkd.in/eN-xV3Mp 🎄Instead of a templated holiday card, write a few heartfelt sentences tailored to each team member. Reference specific achievements or qualities that you admire. (Again, a great place to use SBI!) This extra effort turns a seasonal gesture into a lasting memory. 🎄Encourage team members to write notes of appreciation for one another on a physical or virtual board. This builds camaraderie and amplifies gratitude throughout the team. Bonus idea: Turn the notes into a keepsake, like a photo collage (you could even use it as a virtual background for a video call or a team document!), for the team to reflect on all year. 💚 Gratitude isn’t just nice; it’s strategic. Done right, it can drive engagement, loyalty, and productivity. This season, lead with thanks and watch your team thrive.💚 #Teamwork #Gratitude #Appreciation #Holidays #PeopleTips #Learning #PositiveFeedback #PeopleSkills #HR #LeadershipDevelopment #LaTourLeadershipAcademy

  • ✨ What if Rudolph’s red nose had been overlooked? ✨ Rudolph’s story reminds us that everyone brings something unique to the table, even if it stands out in ways we don’t immediately recognize. As leaders, our role isn’t just to notice these unique talents; it’s to cultivate them, to create an environment where every team member’s “red nose” can shine bright, lighting the way for collective success. This season, take a moment to reflect: 🌟 Are you recognizing the unique strengths in your team? 🌟 How are you empowering them to lead with their gifts? Sometimes, the qualities that seem unusual or out of place are the ones that create the biggest impact. 💡 Let’s celebrate and develop the Rudolphs on our teams...because their light might just guide us all. #LeadershipDevelopment #Strengths #Holiday #Leadership #LaTourLeadershipAcademy

  • What is "signal vs. noise" in leadership? 🤔 🤔 🤔 The "signal" represents what truly matters: the core information, priorities, or actions that drive meaningful progress. The "noise" is everything else: distractions, unproductive conversations, or tasks that feel urgent but aren’t impactful. In leadership, distinguishing signal from noise is essential because it ensures your focus stays on decisions and actions that align with your vision and goals, rather than being overwhelmed by unnecessary details or diversions. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 📈 Leaders who can identify the "signal" will cut through the clutter and focus on strategies that deliver results. 📈By minimizing "noise," leaders can dedicate their time and energy to impactful actions instead of firefighting low-priority distractions. (This is especially important when it's the holiday season and we're already short on working days.) 📈When you’re tuned into the right "signals," you’re better equipped to make informed and timely decisions. 📈By modeling focus, you encourage your team to prioritize effectively and avoid burnout caused by chasing too many distractions. After all, teams look to their leaders to set the tone for what truly matters. Want to know how to move toward more signal and less noise? • The SBI (Situation, Behavior, Impact) model is widely regarded as one of the most effective frameworks for giving and receiving feedback. It breaks feedback down into clear, objective sections, making it easier to deliver and receive. That's why I love it and teach it to all the leaders I work with! 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐒𝐁𝐈 𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: The SBI model helps the feedback giver focus on observable behaviors rather than personal traits, which keeps the conversation objective and fact-based. This can often prevent the receiver from becoming defensive. 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: By focusing on specific behaviors and their impacts, SBI feedback is easier for the receiver to act upon. It also allows the giver to set more easily expectations moving forward. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: Regular use of SBI helps team members know exactly how they’re performing, reducing surprises during performance reviews or project evaluations. Just remember that SBI can and should be used to give both positive and constructive feedback; no one likes only hearing how they can improve. 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: Providing immediate and regular feedback using SBI means addressing behaviors as they occur, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
