Today is #NationalPhilanthropyDay! Today, we celebrate the extraordinary changes that fundraising and philanthropy have helped create in our world. Whether you've been with us since we opened our doors in 1980 or just made your first gift this year, every dollar you've donated has helped to change hundreds of lives for survivors of domestic violence in Montgomery County. Thank you for helping to fund a brand new shelter with supportive services all in one place, an expanded Transitional Housing unit, meals and clothes, and so many more efforts that have allowed us to serve our community for nearly 45 years.

We're so grateful for the dozens of friends and supporters of Laurel House joined us for Beth Sturman's retirement party last night! Thank you for joining us for an evening to reflect on an enduring 19-year legacy of service to survivors of domestic violence. Laurel House would not be the organization it is today without Beth's incredible leadership.

For our Adopt-a-Family Program, our primary focus is providing gift cards for our families. Gift cards are an empowering means of financial support for families in our shelter and other programs, giving parents the opportunity to purchase gifts that are best for their children. Donors who are interested in participating in our Adopt-a-Family Program should reach out to Andrea Devenney at 610-277-1860 x 101 or adevenney@laurel-house.org.

Today is #ElectionDay! If you're a domestic violence survivor, or an advocate working with survivors, make sure to consider a safety plan for casting a ballot. Here's some important information to keep in mind: • If you are voting in person in MontCo, the polls are open from 7 am until 8 pm. • If you're a first-time voter, or if you moved to Pennsylvania and are voting for the first time at a new polling place, you must show ID to vote. Acceptable forms of ID include a valid PA driver's license, a U.S. passport, or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or a government check that includes your name and address. Need to find your polling place, return your ballot or access voter information in another language? Visit Vote.PA.gov to learn more!
