Apparently, it's Principal week or month and someone just told me I wasn't supposed to work today. Listen, I can't keep track of all the days. What I can do is plan for my own healing and rest in alignment with my life - so I'll be offline in two weeks for a whole week. And regardless of what any calendar says I'm riding for our principals everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. Count on it. The Superintendent Research Project from the ILO Group is the only publicly available database and analysis of who is leading the nation’s largest school districts, and their recent report found "persistent turnover and racial disparities" in school leadership nationwide. In The Antiracist Collective, supervisors play a critical role in supporting principals of color to #leadliberated -- which is why their participation in the 2-year arc of the program is so important.

This is us - Lead Liberated's Program Team - at the end of 4 days of facilitating a residential retreat to launch Cohort 5. We were a bit loopy - and full of joy and pride. Cohort 5 is about to kill the game. I'm honored and proud to lead this team and partner with them to create something I cannot create on my own. Between the four of us, we have ~30 years of principal experience. I'm grateful for their individual contributions. Tara supervised principals for over a decade and coaches our white co-conspirators to be just that. Leon quotes his grandmother and keeps the main thing the main thing - learning and Amber, who just left the principal role, keeps us grounded in the realities while bringing joy and her own experience as a Lead Liberated principal to the work.
