Combatting climate change and poverty with safe solar lights for vulnerable families and health clinics in East Africa.

About us

Let There Be Light International (LTBLI) raises awareness about global Energy Poverty and donates solar lights to at-risk communities in sub-Saharan Africa. https://linktr.ee/shineonltbli LTBLI works with 12 grassroots NGOs in 4 countries to provide pico lights to vulnerable families left out of market-based electrification programs in remote communities. Key programs in Uganda include the basic solar-electrification of prioritized rural health centers (79 Health Clinic II and III in Uganda) and a maternal and infant health project, Safe Births + Healthy Homes (SB+HH), through which we solar-electrify prioritized rural health clinics, conduct community-based education about renewable energy, and provide new mothers in rural off-grid communities with a solar light for use at home after the critical birth event. 6,700 mother/baby pairs have participated in this innovative program, directly impacting the health, safety and economic stability of more than 36,000 people.
