We closed the #16DaysOfActivism by highlighting the work of Hogar Ruth in eradicating gender-based violence in Puerto Rico. The organization not only provides temporary shelter for survivors and their children but also offers multidisciplinary services and helps them find secure housing. Their innovative services include the Mariposa Montessori Child Development Center, which cares for children while their mothers learn to break the cycle of violence permanently. Coordinadora Paz Para Las Mujeres,Inc. has been supported by Liberty Foundation for 4 years because it is a leading organization in the fight against gender-based violence in all its forms. Their services range from providing direct support to survivors to facilitating tools for economic independence in projects like the Centro Paz para Ti in Adjuntas. Additionally, they are a powerful and ever-present voice for educating and promoting public policies that address the root of the problem. Damarys Parrilla López is not just a name. She was part of our Liberty family. We will always remember her as a brave, sincere, and helpful colleague. Damarys was an excellent mother and friend who loved listening to and dancing salsa and had a fondness for chocolates. Her tragic death, and that of all victims of gender-based violence, affects us all deeply. Ce-Transforma is a program of Centro para Puerto Rico Sila M. Calderón that offers interdisciplinary support to survivors of gender-based violence. Annually, 341 women have been able to break the cycle of violence thanks to the support of this organization that creates favorable conditions, such as economic independence, court support, and psychosocial services. #ConnectingCommunities #16DaysOfActivism #NoExcuse

As part of our commitment to social well-being, Liberty Foundation invests in nonprofit organizations that provide essential services to survivors of gender-based violence, promote policy changes, and work on education and prevention.
