#Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in America. In 1865 in Galveston, Texas, federal troops freed the last American slaves, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Long celebrated by African Americans, Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021. A day of liberation and resilience, Juneteenth is also a reminder of the possibilities of what can be achieved when everyone has equal access to opportunities and is treated with respect. With it being National #CNAWeek, we want to spotlight another of our incredible CNAs. Always dependable with a positive attitude, Cynthia Moore, a CNA at our Harbour’s Edge #seniorliving community, is well-liked by both residents and team members. She approaches each resident with a smile and a focus on their unique needs. “I am passionate about providing compassionate care to our residents,” said Cynthia. “As a CNA, I am able to make a difference in people’s lives, which is important to me. It’s National CNA Week! Each day, Certified Nursing Assistants play an important role on our care teams. They show compassion and knowledge in the personalized care they provide our residents in assisted living and skilled nursing. To start off #CNAWeek, we want to spotlight Avry Moran, one of our many CNAs who make a difference in the lives of our residents. Avry is a CNA at our Friendship Village of Bloomington #seniorliving community. He became a CNA because he wanted to help people. Team members and residents appreciate his thoughtfulness and his dedication to always going above and beyond. “Not everyone has family that lives close enough to visit every day, so often CNAs become like a second family to the residents we care for,” he said. “Those emotional connections are important to our residents, and getting to build those relationships with them is one of my favorite parts of what I do.” Thank you to Avry and the rest of our incredible CNAs for all you do! #CNAWeek #CCRC
