Ms. G's elementary class engaged in a "Witch's Brew" STEM Challenge. The students participated in inquiry-based learning and used deductive reasoning to create different "potions" using monster parts to produce a chemical reaction. Students were able to choose from Halloween themed ingredients such as crushed bones, monster snot, spider venom, blended unicorn horns, bat droppings, juiced eyeballs and powdered dragon teeth. The students enjoyed analyzing their own potions as well as the potions of their peers to determine which ingredients worked best. Students were then able to freely experiment with the ingredients individually and/or with their peers. What a fun way to celebrate Halloween!

Kindness takes courage! On October 11, LifeWorks hosted our annual Olweus Kickoff event to show support against bullying and promote peer relationships. Olweus is LifeWorks bullying prevention program, which is focused on long-term change creating a safe and positive school climate. Students took part in many activities across our campuses such as creating a kindness quilt, participating in a school-wide unity walk, making anti-bullying posters, and creating “helping hands” to identify those people who support us. #BullyingPreventionMonth

Ms. Christine’s Life Skills classroom students found a butterfly while looking at the school garden. They were picking which flower was their favorite and found a beautiful butterfly. The students named her Fifi and were able to practice being gentle!
