🦷 The Power of Far UV-C in Dental Care Hygiene! 💡 A recent study from Osaka Dental University has revealed the powerful germicidal effects of 222-nm Far UV-C light in reducing microbial contamination in dental spittoons — a critical step forward for patient safety in dental settings. 🔬 In just 5 minutes, Far UV-C exposure reduced bacterial contamination, including oral streptococci and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, by over 97%! Typically rinsed with water alone between patients, spittoons can present an ongoing risk for cross-contamination. Jacob Bueno de Mesquita, PhD, along with his students, is leading groundbreaking research on the effectiveness of Far-UVC light in reducing risk of viral transmission and respiratory infections.
