  • Last week, we brought together 58 teammates from 3+ countries and 20+ cities for our regular team offsite. 🌍 🤝 The theme of this offsite was connection and growth—both as individuals and as a team. Over the course of a few days, we reflected on our journey so far, shared big ideas for the future, and focused on how we can continue to build a product and brand that our members will love. We’re so grateful to work with such an incredible group of people who are deeply passionate about what we do. Here’s to a year of meaningful connections and bold growth ahead!

Member Experience Manager @ Kindred | Travel Coordination, Customer Service

A huge thank you to Kindred for hosting an amazing offsite work trip in Atlanta, GA! 🍑 As someone who works remotely, it was such a rewarding experience to meet coworkers from other departments and finally connect in person with people I’ve only collaborated with virtually. Spending time together strengthened our team bonds and highlighted what makes Kindred so special ✨ I’m grateful to be part of a company that truly values connection, community, and teamwork. This trip left me feeling inspired, energized, and proud to be part of such an incredible team! ❤️

  • Is home swapping the next big thing in travel? RUSSH Magazine Spoiler alert: we believe so! “My co-founder Tas and I both love to travel and believe deeply that the human connection, education, and core memories you earn through travelling make for a richer life. We wanted to build something that goes beyond just swapping homes—it’s about creating a community where collective values thrive and paying it forward becomes the norm.” - Justine Palefsky https://lnkd.in/gpNiiTvy

Thank you Henry Mance at Financial Times for the thoughtful discussion with Justine Palefsky on the positive impact that choosing home swapping can have on overtourism. The dynamics of travel are evolving and we’re here to enable deeper, more meaningful connections between people and places. We’ve seen firsthand how home-swapping isn’t just a way to travel—it’s a movement that redefines what community and conscious travel can look like. We’re glad you’ve felt it too: “House-swapping does encourage you to step into the shoes of a local. If you stay in an actual home, you are more likely to try to live in it, and the local neighbourhood, not dash out to every featured attraction on Tripadvisor.” Keep reading here: https://lnkd.in/eA5D-S_r

Photographer | Creative Director | Cape Town & Paris

I’ve just returned from an inspiring and productive trip to New York, and I had the opportunity to use an app called Kindred for the first time - a community centred home-swap app. I was specifically looking to stay in Brooklyn, close to my meetings, with easy access to a good gym, and surrounded by local coffee shops to recharge in between work. Kindred made the entire process seamless, offering exactly what I needed for both my work and personal life. For creatives and photographers like myself who travel frequently for shoots, meetings, and collaborative projects, finding a space that feels like home can be a challenge. Hotels are not like a home. Kindred will transform how I approach my future travel plans. It’s a home-swapping platform that connects you with others looking to exchange homes, and it operates on a credit system—every time you host someone in your home, you earn credits that you can use to stay in someone else’s place. The app helped me secure a home that was not only convenient for my work engagements but also gave me that feeling of comfort and familiarity—a much-needed element when you’re constantly on the move. For anyone who’s navigating frequent travel, especially in creative industries, this app is a fantastic solution to make each city you visit feel more connected and personal. I’m excited to see how this community grows, particularly within the creative/nomad space as our way of living and travelling continues to evolve. How to make the team cry happy tears at their desk: part 1

Strategy & Ops Lead @ Kindred

Story time! Today, while taking a call from a coffee shop, I was approached by a lovely couple with a baby who slipped me a note (since I was on a call). I paused my call for a quick chat and got to experience Kindred magic in the wild - the couple, from Paris, was on their first Kindred stay in LA, and just hosted for the first time in Paris! I love building a product people love - this interaction means everything 🏡 Kindred

Making Enterprise-Grade Solutions Affordable for Small and Mid-Sized Businesses

I want to take a moment to thank Kindred from the bottom of my heart. We were going to take a long weekend trip, but sadly, our beloved Pug of almost 15 years, Burger, passed away on Wednesday. We told the friendly team late that night that we were cancelling our trip, and they were kind enough to give us a full refund without asking. On Thursday afternoon, our doorbell rang, and to our surprise, the Kindred team had sent us beautiful flowers and a caring card. We were greatly moved by this unexpected act of kindness, which made us feel so cared for during a very hard time. Go the extra mile in ways that really matter. That's what real Customer Experience looks like. Thank you Justine Palefsky Laura Ferguson & Bryan Li for your kindness.
