I’m excited to share about an incredible opportunity I had this past November to attend AEG & AEG Presents Camp Flog Gnaw Community Day! It was an amazing experience to connect with music industry professionals, engage in insightful panels, and gain valuable knowledge on festival production from Goldenvoice. From discussions on marketing to sustainability, the event provided a wealth of insights into the many career opportunities within the entertainment industry. A highlight for me was an inspiring all-women panel on brand partnerships and a session with the talented Travis Bennet. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible, especially “Jae” Pi'ilani Requiro, who coordinated it seamlessly. Big thanks to Live Out L!ve and Angela Pena, MBA, who made the opportunity possible for me! I'm grateful to all the organizations and individuals who made this experience meaningful and helped students like me navigate this dynamic industry! #CampFlogGnaw #MusicIndustry #FestivalProduction #AEG #Goldenvoice

Promoter Rep @ Goldenvoice | M.A., Berklee College of Music | B.A., UC Berkeley

A couple of weeks ago, I was selected to attend Community Day at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw 🎡—a career-focused event offering a behind-the-scenes look at one of LA’s most highly regarded festivals and a chance to explore the many roles within the live music industry. Much gratitude to Live Out L!ve and Candace Newman for submitting me. I’ve been at institutions that talk about DEI, but to see it live in action was something else. Watching doors and minds open to the countless roles in the live music industry for underrepresented communities? It’s proof of what intentional effort can achieve. I saw reflections of my past self in the high school, college, and post-grad attendees, full of curiosity, passion, and a coming acknowledgement of their own potential. And then… experiencing the festival, produced by Goldenvoice, as a Goldenvoice employee for the very first time? Unreal. It wasn’t just about enjoying the festival—it was knowing I’m now part of the team making it all happen. What I love most is how Goldenvoice uplifts cultural voices, supporting the visions of artists like Tyler, the Creator. At Camp Flog Gnaw, Tyler brought everyone together—band kids, goths, punks, nerds, athletes, drama kids. The confluence of art, space, music, fashion, and theater was stunning to witness. It was both a celebration of individuality and togetherness, exactly what the world needs right now. As Tyler put it, "a place where we can just be.” And then of course we went dipped early and got tacos…can’t get more LA than that. Happy 10 years CFG 🥳

I’m excited to share that I had the opportunity to participate in Live Out L!ve's Mentorship Program this summer. Working closely with my mentor, Katrina Lee, and Live Out L!ve’s founder, Candace Newman, has been a valuable experience in understanding the concert and music industry. Throughout the past three months, I explored various career paths within the industry and became familiar with new programs and software. One of the highlights was touring the Kia Forum, where I gained insights into the venue and the logistics of concert production. I’m grateful for this experience and the knowledge I’ve gained. A sincere thank you to Katrina Lee, Candace Newman, and the Live Out L!ve team for their support and guidance.
