About us
Longwood University's College of Business and Economics (CBE) is a thriving, engaged community where students, faculty, and staff collaborate to shape the future of business. Longwood CBE is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a globally recognized standard of excellence in business education. AACSB accreditation is the most esteemed and longest-standing credential for business schools, ensuring that they adhere to rigorous standards in academic quality, faculty qualifications, and student learning outcomes. This prestigious accreditation signifies that graduates possess the skills and knowledge essential for success in the business world. Moreover, it can enhance career opportunities, facilitate valuable networking connections, and provide access to scholarships and distinguished programs. Our core values—humility, optimism, collaboration, integrity, and innovation—guide everything we do. CBE students are empowered to solve real-world challenges through hands-on experiences like internships, projects, and partnerships with industry leaders. We believe in preparing students not just for their first job but for long-term career success and leadership roles that will make a meaningful impact. Dr. David Lehr (Associate Dean, CBE) will present the final CBE Brown Bag session for Fall 2025 on "AI in the Classroom." The session is scheduled for November 21 at 3:30 pm. Earlier this fall, CBE established an AI task force (Led by Dr. Lehr) that worked to create AI policy statements for the college. The task force also initiated a collaborative effort to share the ways faculty are using AI in their teaching and research. This particular Brown Bag seminar is a continuation of the great work of the task force.

Grateful for a successful etiquette dinner with the Longwood CBE’s MANG 391 Professional Skills Development class! This event would not have been possible without the support of our organizers, participants, and, most importantly, our distinguished guest speaker, Erin Cheely, CFO of Luck Companies. Ms. Cheely shared invaluable insights on professional etiquette, leadership, and career development, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this evening both educational and inspiring. Here's to fostering continued growth, professionalism, and meaningful connections! #EtiquetteDinner #LongwoodCBE #ProfessionalGrowth #Leadership #Networking
