On October 31, 2024, the Court, in collaboration with the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA), hosted the Judge Beverly Reid O’Connell Power Lunch Program for students at Cabrillo High School. This program offers local high school students civic education and judicial mentorship, giving them a unique glimpse into the judicial branch. Approximately 20 students participated, engaging in meaningful conversations with justice professionals. The day kicked off with introductions from the attorneys, judicial officers and courtroom personnel who discussed their career paths and their role in the courtroom, followed by an exciting “Legal Jeopardy” game that tested their knowledge of the legal system! We’re proud to empower the next generation and foster a deeper understanding of our justice system. #PowerLunch #CivicEducation #WLALA #JusticeForAll #CabrilloHighSchool #FutureLeaders
