Have you seen the Denver Public Schools Annual Climate Action and Accountability Report?? Some exciting things are happening over at DPS! Several measures within the bond package were approved, and the district was awarded a grant that will help them purchase 20 new #electric school buses! A recent study shows that rather than persistent, long droughts, the American West has been warming due to increased #greenhousegasemissions. Warmer, drier climates can lead to water shortages, stressed crops, and prolonged heat waves. The study concludes that without further #emissionsreductions, these impacts will be increasingly felt in the coming years. Recently, the Biden Administration announced $1.5 billion in funding through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program for 92 partnership-driven projects across the US! "Selected RCPP projects will help farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners adopt and expand voluntary, locally led conservation strategies to enhance natural resources while tackling the climate crisis." #fundingalert! Are you an entity interested in adding #evcharging equipment for your #electric fleet vehicles? The Colorado Energy Office's Fleet ZERO Grant is now accepting applications! Eligible entities can receive up to $500,000 to "support the charging needs of fleet owners and operators seeking to electrify their vehicles, as well as third-party providers intending to offer public charging and EV charging-as-a-service to fleets." The deadline to apply is November 15th, get our application in at the link below!

#grantalert! Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) is pleased to offer Small Research Grants to qualified individuals or groups to conduct applied studies on JCOS lands. The goal of this program is to provide valuable data to JCOS and preference for funding will be given to proposals that address priority research topics. For detailed information about the grant opportunity, including priority research topics, please visit 2024 Jeffco Open Space Small Grant Announcement.   Awards will range from $10,000 to $15,000 but smaller proposals will be considered.   The proposal deadline is 5:30 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2024!
