    We sometimes focus too much on what it takes to be a great learning designer. But what if we were to shift our focus toward the exact opposite? It does take dedicated effort and intentional choices also design non-examples as well. Ever wonder what goes into making the worst Learning Experience Designer imaginable? Let's dive into this with a pinch of humour and a lot of reality checks. 😄 1. Die-hard believer in Learning Styles 🎨 Our designer staunchly believes in catering to mythical learning styles. Visual learner? They'll bombard you with flashy PowerPoint slides. Auditory? Get ready for endless, monotonous lectures. Kinesthetic? Maybe a high-five and some dance moves on your way out! 2. Highlighting Fanatic ✨ Next up, the highlighting obsession. If it's not neon yellow, it's not worth learning, right? Our designer thinks that the more you highlight, the smarter you get. Forget context or understanding, if it glows, it knows! 3. Loves Pyramids - Learning and Otherwise 📚 Quoting the Learning Pyramid is a must. They firmly believe that passive learning methods, like reading or listening to lectures, are far inferior. Yet, their courses are 90% lecture-based. Irony much? 4. Multitasking Maniac 🤹♂️ The cherry on top? A fierce advocate for multitasking. Why focus on one learning activity when you can juggle five? Efficiency over effectiveness, always! Nevermind the mountain of research against multitasking in learning environments. 5. One-Size-Fits-All Approach 👕 Customization is for the weak. Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned pro, everyone gets the same, standardized, out-of-the-box experience. Personalization? What's that? 6. Tech Terror 💻🔥 Technophobia is key. Innovative digital tools? Interactive platforms? AI? Adaptive Learning? "No, thanks, the traditional ways are the best!" says our designer, but also remarks “AI will take all our jobs away!” 7. Feedback Phobia & Iteration Enemy 🚫 Constructive feedback? More like personal attacks. In the world of our designer, the first draft is the final draft. No revisions necessary, no suggestions welcomed! 8. Deadline Dodger ⏰ And of course, the mastery of never meeting a deadline. Why release a course this month when you can always do it... someday? So there you have it – the perfect recipe for a disastrous Learning Experience Designer. Adapt our learning experiences to the world our learners live in 4. Emphasise memorability & recall while designing experiences 5. Build inclusive learning spaces - where everyone feels welcome 6. Leverage data effectively to make decisions 7. Shift from PBLs (Points, badges and leaderboards) to PBL (problem-based learning) 8.
