It was an honor to join Center for Women & Enterprise’s Day on the Hill event for CWE’s “2024 Women Entrepreneurs Who Lifts Up Massachusetts” program. Women-owned businesses play a vital role in driving economic growth across Massachusetts. We also want to congratulate Senate President Karen Spilka and HWM Vice Chair Ann-Margaret Ferrante for the Women's Economic Empowerment Leadership Award recognition. We’re grateful to CWE’s commitment to fostering job creation and building an equitable path to entrepreneurship.

☕️🌞Any day that starts in Worcester is a good day! On Thursday, Secretary Hao kicked off the day at Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce’s breakfast club celebrating their collective leadership in growing Worcester’s economy. Worcester is important to the success of Massachusetts. We are proud to support the city and its many partners on projects and initiatives that can further strengthen the Woo!

In Massachusetts, we recognize the tremendous potential at the intersection of life sciences, semiconductors, and AI. With partners like Microsystems Technology Laboratories, Mass General Brigham, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and others on #TeamMA, we’re powering innovation, attracting global talent and strengthening our life sciences sector. This event showed the firepower that this state has to offer when it comes to paving the way for life-changing breakthroughs.

MA continues to support and invest in the ecosystem so that this state can lengthen our lead in life sciences. Last week, the ecosystem got stronger with the help of Sartorius. We are so glad to have Sartorius expanding here with its new Center for Bioprocess Innovation, and we’re excited to see the company unlock new innovation and continue to succeed!

Thank you Coalition for an Equitable Economy for the Outstanding Legislative Collaborators Award earlier this month, recognizing our commitment to advancing equitable economic growth across the state. We’re grateful to work with our legislative partners Senator Gomez, Senator Payano, State Rep. Gonzalez, and State Rep. Holmes who were also recognized for this award, as well as EOED’s quasi agency Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC) which received the Innovative Small Business Funding Partners Award. It takes all of us on #TeamMA to ensure that Massachusetts’ economy supports an equitable small business ecosystem. Together, we’re building stronger economies and brighter futures.

I'm so proud to live in this state and excited to be part of the important work ahead realizing the dynamic vision of this investment. The next 10 years start right now!

From day one, we have set out to make MA the best place for individuals to pursue rewarding careers and for companies to start, scale and succeed. The Mass Leads Act will help us achieve that vision. We’re grateful to Governor Healey and #TeamMA for positioning our state to lead for future generations. Last week, we lost an important member of our economic development family with the passing of former Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development Secretary Greg Bialecki. Greg was a super talented individual with a passion for housing, permitting, and economic development and had an incredible impact while serving our state as secretary from 2009 to 2015. He was also a generous and thoughtful friend to so many in our office. We extend our condolences to his family and will continue to honor his legacy in our work on behalf of the communities and people of Massachusetts.
