  • 🦈 We're so proud to announce that we are the official sports bra partners of Sale Sharks Rugby Club! Earlier this month we went to visit them to give an educational talk about the importance of sports bras and fitted them all for their perfect fit, style and support level. 💪 We were so excited to see their individual orders arrive with them this week and how strong and powerful they all look. We're so excited to support you for this upcoming season and, I think you can all agree with me, it's clear to see that having a sports bra that fits you like a glove really does make a world of difference... #SportsBra #SmallBusiness #MAAREE #SaleSharks #Rugby #WomenSupportingWomen #StrongWomen #SmallBusiness #EmpoweringWomen #WomenInSport #WomensSport #WomenWhoPlaySport

Celebrating Severn Stars Netball 🌟 An emotional end to an incredible campaign for the Severn Stars team this weekend. Leading London Pulse for the majority of the 3rd place playoff on Saturday, the team we're unfortunate to lose by just 4 points. Rounding off a still remarkable season. It's sad to acknowledge that this amazing squad won't be playing together next season. At MAAREE, we are incredibly proud to have supported the Severn Stars for the last two seasons. Watching them grow, excel, and embody the essence of teamwork has been a privilege. We believe in empowering women to achieve their goals, and the Severn Stars have done just that, setting a powerful example for all. Thank you, Severn Stars, for an unforgettable journey. #SevernStars #Netball #Teamwork #MAAREE #WomenInSports #Empowerment #ProudSupporter

  • Virtual Sports Bra Fittings 💻 Such an integral part of what we stand for at MAAREE #womensupportingwomen

One of the best things to come out of the Covid Lockdowns: MAAREE virtual sports bra fittings. Conservative estimates are 80% of women are wearing the wrong size sports bra. Many are still wearing the same size they were told as a teen, heading to M&S for their first bra fitting. The experience is so scarred in the mind, getting another fitting could wait. When lockdown was enforced across the UK, our team couldn't get to in person fittings as we normally would. So, we set up a safe online portal for customers to join our expert fitters in a 1-to-1 fit check. The response was incredible 📈 The fittings went from 1 day a month to 5 days a week in a matter of months. But more importantly, it gave us time with the customer to build trust in what MAAREE stood for as a brand, sharing education and knowledge along the way. There is no obligation to buy from these sessions, but our conversion rate is the highest of any marketing function across the business. Plus, they're unlimited, customers can check in as many times as they wish to ensure their size is still how it should be. If you've not had a sports bra fitting for a while, join the now 1000s of women who have had an amazing fit experience by booking on the MAAREE website. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you Thanks again to Amanda, this was a check to ensure the bra fitted correctly. It took all of about 3 minutes for her trained eye to say I was good to go! I’m seriously considering whether to buy another solidarity bra for work (I work on a busy ward at our local hospital). I’m very pleased I found this company and highly recommend them. #sportsbrafittings #fitsquad #womensupportingwomen #smallbusiness

  • Really interesting initial finding connecting the use of a supportive sports bra to the prevalence of knee injuries in women's sport. #SportsBra #KneeInjuryPrevention #WomenInSports #ACLInjury #Biomechanics #Fitness #MAAREE #WomenSupportingWomen

Could the sports bra be the link between ACL injury and their prevalence in women's sport? Despite the 2-1 loss last night, it was great to see Leah Williamson leading England out against France. Her ACL injury in April '23, caused Leah to miss last years World Cup in Australia/New Zealand, and a difficult 9-month recovery. But could the right sports bra potentially reduce your risk of knee injuries, like Leah's? A new study published in the Journal of Applied Biomechanics is suggesting exactly that! Women are significantly more likely to suffer from ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injuries compared to men, often due to factors like landing mechanics and muscle activation patterns. 💪 Researchers have found that when women wore highly supportive bras during jumping and landing tasks, common risk factors for ACL injuries decreased. This includes: 🏃♀️ Reduced Knee Flexion Angles: Less knee bending upon landing. 🏃♀️ Decreased Dynamic Knee Valgus: Lower inward movement of the knee. 🏃♀️ Landing Strategies: Without adequate breast support, women often adopt an ankle-dominant landing strategy, increasing the risk of knee injuries. 🏃♀️Supportive bras help shift to a hip-dominant strategy, which is safer for the knees. Really interesting findings! The study, led by Dr. Douglas Powell from the University of Memphis, found that better breast support reduces trunk movement, leading to improved control over the pelvis and lower extremities. This interconnected movement pattern helped distribute the impact more safely across the body. Take this finding with a pinch of salt: The study involved only 35 participants and is a pilot study, so its findings are preliminary. It focused on recreational female athletes with cup sizes B to D, and did not account for other factors like muscle strength and training routines which also contribute to ACL injuries. This paper shows a great starting point in the greater understanding between women's sport and the prevalence of knee injuries. With research into women's specific footwear, understanding women's health factors including menstrual cycle effects, training intensities and match scheduling, as well as breast support, hopefully we can make women's sport safer for our elite athletes and beyond. If you want to discuss how fitted and supportive sports bras could impact your team, please drop me a message. #SportsBra #KneeInjuryPrevention #WomenInSports #ACLInjury #Biomechanics #Fitness #MAAREE #WomenSupportingWomen
