Thanks to $48.7M in funding announced by U.S. Senators Ben Cardin, Chris Van Hollen, and other Maryland leaders, workforce development is reaching underserved populations across the state and nation. Programs like the Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) grants and initiatives by the Maryland Center for Construction Education and Innovation (MCCEI) are making transformative changes, expanding access for women in fields like construction, advanced manufacturing, energy, and technology. This is more than just training—it's building a diverse, inclusive workforce that reflects our communities.

We’re dreaming big with the Maryland Apprenticeship Connector. What starts here—healthcare-focused community impact programming—has the potential to expand into new industries, new counties, and even global opportunities. One year ago, we launched the Maryland Apprenticeship Connector to bridge the gap between ambitious job seekers and Maryland’s thriving apprenticeship opportunities. While the journey began before the launch, today we celebrate this milestone and the incredible strides made in connecting Maryland's workforce to meaningful careers. Every time National Apprenticeship Week rolls around, we’ll reflect on this special anniversary and the impact this initiative has had.
