When one goes into a procedure requiring sedation, most individuals expect that the environment is safe should something unexpected happen. As one can see in this professional call to action, it is necessary to ensure that every patient in every environment should have safe and effective monitoring. Additionally the staff need to have the skills and the equipment to intervene if the monitor identifies a problem. I am proud that Makani Science is developing a bandage sized wireless monitor that can deliver such a call to action in the event that an individual has difficulty breathing and needs critical care to stay alive.
