In demanding shipbuilding projects, every minute counts. Every part of each project—project management, planning and design, procurement, production, logistics, installation, and supervision—needs to be done properly, and there is no room for mistakes or delays. Today we have offices on three continents—Europe, North America, and Asia—locating us close to our clients. Our own in-house furniture and textile production is based in Vanhalinna, Finland. Last month, SunStone Ships’ seventh Infinity-series expedition vessel, the Douglas Mawson, achieved a major milestone with its keel laying at the CMHI Shipyard. MAKINEN has completed interiors for the six previous vessels in the series and will begin interior works for the Douglas Mawson in the coming weeks. This 186-guest expedition vessel is on track for delivery in 2025. The project involves a consortium of industry leaders including CMHI, ULSTEIN, SunStone Ships, Inc., Tomas Tillberg Design, and MAKINEN.
