When comedian Martin Short stepped on stage, he was completely free. No fear. No need for approval. No concern about judgment. Why? Because he had already faced the worst. His brother died when he was 12. His mother when he was 17. His father when he was 20. By the time he faced an audience, their opinion meant nothing. He didn't know them. They hadn't held his hand through loss. They hadn't wiped his tears Continue reading and learn about the “price of freedom.” https://lnkd.in/gfsp-DXY

For almost 10 years, I’ve met with a group of guys every Thursday at 7 AM. We call these meetups, Man Morning. We meet no matter what, rain or shine. We walk, talk, celebrate our wins, share our struggles, and support each other when life gets tough. I know not every man has something like this in his life. So, I wondered: Could this kind of community be recreated in a virtual setting, with people who didn’t even know each other? I decided to find out and tested a Group Chat Challenge. Seven men from different corners of the country. Strangers at first, united by one thing: a desire to get better. Every day for 10 days, we connected. We shared our wins, our struggles, and what we needed to move forward. And what happened over those 10 days was nothing short of incredible. Here’s what I learned: https://lnkd.in/gFKt-dK5

𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐭. Most men don’t have the space to share what’s 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 going on in their life. The wins, the celebrations, the struggles, the questions. Instead, we isolate and keep it all bottled up. We stay quiet. We act like all is good. But this is no way to live. True growth happens when you’re surrounded by people who: - Encourage you - Support you - Hold you accountable - Push you to be better Magic happens when you’re around the right people ... even if it's just a group chat. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭. I started a 10-Day Group Chat Challenge with men from all over the country. Fathers, husbands, professionals who all had something in common - they were all committed to growth. The results were powerful. Every day, we: - Shared what success looked like for the day - Talked about our wins, our struggles, and everything in between - Answered fun prompts - Encouraged each other - Asked tough questions By the end of the 10 days, a group of strangers became a group of men who had each other’s backs. There’s a void out there for spaces like this. Intentional, growth-focused communities for men. Because of the massive results this had, I’m doing it again real soon. Take a moment and audit you text messages. If you don't have what I described here and you’re interested in being in the next Group Chat Challenge, drop a comment or shoot me a DM. 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭: Being in the right group chat can change your life.

Who you should vote for? The answer is clear. With all the chaos swirling around the presidential election, it’s easy to get caught up in it. But here’s who you should vote for: 𝐕𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮. Cast your ballot to lead your household and be an excellent husband and father. Vote for you to control what you can control, and release what you cannot. Vote for you to have high standards and uncompromising values. Vote for you to earn money and create a beautiful today and future. Vote for you to spend time with men who make you better. Vote for you to take care of your health and wellness. Vote for you to be a lifelong learner. Vote for you to be active in your community. Vote for you to see the best in others. When it’s all said and done, vote for you.

If your grandparents’ car had an ashtray in the backseat, it means 3 things: 1. You probably smoked the equivalent of a pack of lung darts a month. 2. You have incredible life experience and are smarter today than you’ve ever been before. 3. You’ve become passive and you’re not making the bold moves like you used to. Look, it’s not too late to see if you still got it. But if you keep waiting around, it’s only gonna get harder. Find your edge today and stretch yourself if only by a little bit. You survived second hand smoke for a reason. Get after it.

There’s this thing called “sleep divorce” going around. Basically, couples are saying, “Hey, let’s not sleep in the same bed together every night.” And honestly, it makes sense for a lot of people. Maybe one of you gets up at 4 AM, the other snores like a freight train, or she’s into nature sounds while you need complete silence. So, this means one of you sleeps in the guest room or on the pull out now and then (or daily). In today’s world, do you really need to share the same bed every night to have a solid marriage? The answer? It depends. If sleeping separately means you both wake up feeling like actual humans instead of zombies, then why not? The key is doing what works for you as a couple. Forget what people think you should be doing. And let’s be real, great night’s sleep? That’s priceless. Whether you’re in the same bed or not. WHAT DO YOU THINK? Should married couples sleep in the same bed every night?
