We recently got approved for a project “ALLGEA” together with Chalmers Industriteknik, Houdini Sportswear and MOUNID. As our product portfolio is building, we are preparing for our projects lined up in 2025 - bringing seaweed biomaterials into world known brand portfolios. We are happy to announce the start of the "ALLGAE" project, financed by Formas, a Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development together with MOUNID, Houdini Sportswear, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and Chalmers Industriteknik. The project aims to develop algae-based textile fibers from seaweed by-products, while simultaneously integrating a new algae pigment directly during the fiber spinning process. The goal is to create a sustainable and circular alternative to traditional fossil- and bio-based fibers, eliminating the need for harmful dyes. #seaweedbiomaterials #algaebasedtextile #biomaterials #manatee

Manatee Biomaterials - a Joint Venture between Nordic SeaFarm and FutureLab & Partners since 2023 to make ocean biomaterials available at scale for circular product and packaging systems. Enabling future applications from ocean based material sources, Manatee Biomaterials' starting point is seaweeds cultivated in Scandinavian waters, creating a raw material source that is transparent, constant and reliable, farmed sustainably and processed effectively and clean.
