Our thoughts are with all those impacted by the devastating wildfires that have intensified overnight, including the Palisades, Hurst, Eaton, and Tyler fires. These fast-moving fires have already consumed over 4,000 acres, forcing the evacuation of more than 80,000 individuals. Fueled by strong winds, the fires are being battled by over 1,400 firefighters. A 7.4 magnitude earthquake has struck Vanuatu at 12:47 local time (01:47 GMT). The earthquake and subsequent aftershocks struck just of the coast of Vanuatu's capital city, Port Vila. There are widespread reports of damage, including to the United States Embassy, the British High Commission, the French Embassy, and the New Zealand High Commission. There are reports of deaths and injuries with the full extent of the impact still developing.
