Updates

  • It’s official! Both the westbound and eastbound Collector-Distributor (CD) roads that are part of the #Prop400 funded I-10 Broadway Curve Project are now open! CD roads help keep traffic flowing on the freeway by separating through-traffic from local traffic, minimizing lane weaving between exits, and preventing slowdowns during rush hour. This milestone marks another important progress in the completion of this major #Prop400 investment in our region. Learn how to find your lane at I10BroadwayCurve.com Photos by ADOT

  • We congratulate Governor Stephen Roe Lewis on being recently named to TIME Magazine’s 100 most influential climate leaders in 2024! Governor Lewis presented today at the Regional Council meeting to highlight the work the Gila River Indian Community is leading on sustainability and climate. Spearheaded by Governor Lewis, the Gila River Indian Community is implementing solutions for water conservation and renewable energy with the first-ever solar-over-canal project in the country. Governor Lewis is a member of the Regional Council and previously served as chair of the MAG Economic Development Committee.

  • MAG and its member agencies care about safety and the well-being of our community. That’s why every year we work hard to organize the Annual Crossing Guard Training to help provide crucial resources and information for the men and women who keep our children safe when going to and coming back from school. 🎒🏫🛑📚️ This past year, we had over 240 crossing guards from all over the MAG region attend the training provided in both English and Spanish. We thank the cities of Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix, Mesa, Peoria, Glendale, Gilbert, and Surprise for supporting this effort with their staff and time to make this possible! • #Prop400atWork The recently upgraded intersection at Southern Avenue and Stapley Drive in Mesa was designed to increase safety. With an average of 60,000 vehicles passing through daily, these enhancements—raised medians and improved left-turn lanes—aim to reduce crashes and congestion. Thanks to funding from #Proposition400, this project was a vital step towards safer and more efficient travel for everyone in the area. Let’s keep our roads safe and you moving! Together, we’re building a better-connected Valley!

  • Today, MAG joined Governor Katie Hobbs, elected officials and business leaders for a celebration of the passage of Proposition 479, a 20-year extension of the dedicated half-cent sales tax for transportation. Passed with overwhelming support by Maricopa County voters on November 5, 2024, #Prop479 will help fund critical transportation infrastructure in the MAG region, including freeway, arterial streets, and transit projects that will fuel economic prosperity and sustain our quality of life for a generation to come. We thank Maricopa County voters, Governor Katie Hobbs, the Arizona Legislature, and the leaders from our 32 member agencies for their support in investing in transportation infrastructure for the next 20 years.
