We recently hit an incredible milestone for the South Central Extension/Downtown Hub light rail project! 🎉🚋 Watch as a train makes its first-ever journey across the Salt River Bridge into south Phoenix — a glimpse of the future of transit in our community. Next stop? Baseline and Central Avenue — where we’ll come together later this year to celebrate the official opening of the extension. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! #Prop400atWork #LightRail 🎥Clips courtesy of Valley Metro RPTA

Last month, MAG coordinated the annual Point-in-Time #Homelessness Count in Maricopa County. This important effort is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and last year, it helped to bring $46.5 million to the region to help fund local programs to address homelessness, including emergency shelters and rapid rehousing. Results from this year’s homelessness count are expected to be released by MAG at the end of spring. Learn more at azmag.gov/PITcount

#TBT A look of Indian School Road and US 60 during construction of an overpass in the ‘70s. Did you know? Last year the MAG region received a $146 million federal grant, the largest grant in the region’s history, to upgrade the intersection of Grand/ 35th Avenue and Indian School Road to improve safety along this corridor. The new project will raise 35th Avenue to create an elevated intersection, improving traffic flow and eliminating railroad crossings at the site. Funded in part by #Proposition400, this project is advancing to the final design and right of way acquisition stages. #Prop400atWork

Remaking history! 👏 We love it. #Prop400atWork
The Interstate 10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project team recently recreated a photo taken in 1968, when the Broadway Curve first opened to motorists. About 80 people took part in the photo re-creation, taken during an already planned closure of eastbound I-10, at a time that would not impact motorists. Joining the project team were Governor Katie Hobbs, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, Tempe Mayor Corey Woods, Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers, Phoenix Vice Mayor Anne O'Brien, Tempe Council Member Arlene Chin, Tempe Council Member Berdetta Hodge, the Federal Highway Administration’s Karla Petty and Maricopa Association of Governments Executive Director Ed Zuercher. Thank you to Valley Metro as well for assisting on site. Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) City of Tempe City of Phoenix City of Glendale AZ Federal Highway Administration Valley Metro RPTA
