As the summer winds down, it's time to say farewell to our interns! We have had such a wonderful summer with them in our office and we appreciate all the hard work that they contributed. This year we had four interns, each intern worked in the department. Alexis Foster, Estimating; Dominic Ramirez, Project Management, Eliza Sprouse, Administration and Zayne Morrow, Business Development. Over the summer the interns gained real-world work experience by working closely with their managers. They attended department meetings, participated in special projects, and voiced their thoughts and ideas! The day-to-day situations they engaged in were real and gave them a working opportunity to engage in concept-to-production experience as well as problem-solving and crisis management. Yesterday, we hosted a final farewell breakfast for them. Alexis, Dominic, Eliza, and Zayne - We hope that your experience at Mark One Electric has given you practical experience that you will use for years to come. We wish each of you the very best as you return to school and as you pursue your goals in the future!

Last Friday, July 19th, we bid a fond farewell and extend our heartfelt gratitude to two remarkable individuals who have been the cornerstone of our team. Al Marney and Brian McShane have officially retired after 38 and 28 years of dedicated service, respectively. Throughout their tenure, Al and Brian not only demonstrated exceptional skill and reliability as electricians but also embodied the true spirit of mentorship. Their commitment to passing on knowledge and expertise has been invaluable in shaping the future of our company. They have paved the way for the next generation of electricians at Mark One, ensuring that our standards of excellence continue to thrive. We are profoundly grateful for the impact Al and Brian have made on our team and the lasting contributions they leave behind. Please join us in wishing them a well-deserved retirement filled with joy, relaxation, and countless memorable moments.

Mark One Electric had the pleasure of hosting the Heavy Metal Summer Experience on Friday, July 19th. This innovative program introduces high school students and recent graduates to various building trades, including plumbing, pipefitting, sheet metal, electrical, and more. During their visit, students had hands-on experience building a lamp from scratch under the guidance of our team. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to glimpse the world through the eyes of an electrician. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Border States, Crescent Electric Supply Company, and BA Supply for their generous donations of supplies, which made this experience even more enriching for the students. Special thanks to Mark One's employee, Dianna King, for her dedication and effort in making this event possible. Thank you, Heavy Metal Summer Experience, for allowing us to be a part of this incredible initiative. We are excited about the future growth of this program and look forward to continuing our support!

Congratulations Meg Belew! We are so proud of you.
A mentor can be a powerful catalyst for career advancement, especially for women in CRE. The CREW Kansas City Mentorship Program has been invaluable in helping members navigate the intricacies of the industry and build strong relationships. Here's what this month's featured mentee, Rachel Dumsky, AIA, NCIDQ shared about her mentor, Meg Belew and the journey: "This mentorship has been an opportunity to relate to one another on obstacles in the industry. We have been able to bridge gaps together while exploring solutions to hurdles that were unexpectedly similar, and create a platform to make connections for one another on a more personal level. It has also created a long lasting and meaningful friendship!" #crewkansascity
