As a new generation enters the workforce, it's crucial for companies to adapt to these changes. This morning, Gabriella Kiel, Associate Underwriter, Wholesale Commercial Management Liability, represented Markel on a panel hosted by Insurance Insider US Progress. The discussion focused on what motivates and engages Gen Z in the insurance industry. Gabriella and the other panelists emphasized the importance of building trust with employers and teams. "For me, in-person interaction in the office is extremely important," said Kiel. "The chatter with your team not only facilitates learning but also builds trust, which is essential for Gen Z."

For the second year in a row, Sue Davies, Chief Human Resources Officer, completed the Florida Keys to Recovery adventure to support the Project Athena Foundation and help survivors of traumatic injury, including amputees and cancer survivors. While extremely rewarding, this was no easy task! Sue trained for 20 weeks as the adventure included cycling and kayaking from Key Largo to Key West, totaling approximately 120 miles over three days. Sue was first inspired to participate after hearing from Robyn Benincasa, founder of the Project Athena Foundation, at a leadership meeting last year. We are so proud of you, Sue.
