As Thanksgiving approaches, I’ve been reflecting on the importance of giving back and supporting my community. To make a difference this holiday season, I joined multiple Joyful Grocery Bagging sessions at Martha's Table. It was a rewarding experience to assist in packing 250+ grocery bags, ensuring that families in need can enjoy a more abundant holiday. Many bags even had holiday essentials, such as sweet potato and stuffing! Martha's Table’s mission to address food insecurity and uplift our neighbors resonates deeply with me, and I’m grateful to contribute to such meaningful work. This experience reminded me how impactful small acts of kindness can be in creating a stronger, more caring community. Last week Martha's Table team members Darryl E. Rogers & Olivia Moore were invited to share the impact the Advancing Early Education Collaborative (AEEC) is making at the Early Educators Leadership Conference! This initiative is a partnership between American University School of Education, Trinity Washington University, LIFT-DC, and Martha's Table to provide Black and Latinx women in DC's Wards 7 or 8 seamless academic pathways and support to help them graduate and enter careers in early learning. AEEC Accomplishments to date include: 🔹229 Participants 🔹45 Credentials earned 🔹203 Scholarships distributed 🔹22 Childcare stipends distributed 🔹66 Transportation stipends distributed 🔹55 Students receiving financial capabilities coaching Thank you to our team and our partners for being a part of the transformational change happening in DC!
