Unlocking the future of connectivity starts with a simple idea... Plug an optical module into your network switch and power ultra-fast, long-range links. Imagine 800 Gbps speeds reaching 500 km—or even 1,000 km—with technology that’s both compact and cost-effective. This recent lab demo from ServeTheHome explores how coherent optical modules, powered by innovations like the Marvell Orion DSP, are transforming network infrastructure. Gone are the days of bulky, power-hungry equipment. Now, whether it’s connecting AI clusters or extending data centers across cities, long-range optics are making scalable, high-speed networking a reality. Excited to see where this breakthrough takes the industry next. Get more in-depth information here: https://mrvl.co/4k9TFzn

Custom silicon isn’t just a cool tech project. It’s the engine behind the performance revolution at hyperscalers like AWS, Azure and Google. For years, these giants have harnessed custom chips to optimize compute, power and cost, but the journey doesn’t stop at CPUs. The next frontier? Custom high-bandwidth memory (HBM). By tailoring the memory subsystem, the industry can unlock even greater efficiency and performance for AI and high-performance computing workloads. With partnerships among industry leaders, this innovation is set to redefine data center performance and drive new levels of compute acceleration. At DesignCon, PCIe Gen 7 was a hot topic. But, did you know the spec isn’t even finalized yet? Right now, it's only at the 0.7 review stage, with hopes for 1.0 by mid-June. Despite this, Marvell is already pushing the boundaries, demonstrating working silicon that meets key PCIe 7.0 performance benchmarks. At 128G per second, the company’s silicon: ↪ Achieves 34dB signal-to-noise ratio requirements ↪ Handles extreme 45dB channel loss (well beyond the spec’s 36dB limit) ↪ Delivers a 1 error per 100 million bits rate—exceeding spec standards PCIe 7.0 may still be in the works, but Marvell technology is already proving its capabilities in real-world conditions. Exciting times ahead for high-speed connectivity. Get even more insights in this video, featuring Michael Kanellos of Marvell and Rick Eads of Keysight Technologies: https://mrvl.co/3Qpfe10

What is the next big shift in tech investment? For years, digital transformation was the motivating trend behind countless technological advances—from the cloud to mobile networks to the internet of things (IoT). Today, AI has become both the driving trend and the realm of the most rapid technological advances, most notably in the form of AI data centers. AI data center infrastructure is breaking new ground due to: ✔ AI’s insatiable computing demand. AI models require immense processing power, far beyond what general-purpose infrastructure can handle. ✔ Need for specialized hardware. Companies are reallocating investments to AI accelerators and custom devices optimized for their own training and inference workloads. ✔ Energy and efficiency challenges. AI-driven data centers must balance performance with sustainability, leading to innovations in cooling, power management and physical infrastructure design. As hyperscalers and their customers shift their focus to AI, the semiconductor, computing and networking industries are doubling down on AI-ready architecture. How is your organization adapting to this transformation?
