DIVERSE BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT TBA is thrilled to highlight Maryland Electric Company, a thriving woman-owned commercial and industrial electrical contractor driving innovation on the new Nissan Stadium project. Their impact goes beyond Tennessee and extends across the southeastern U.S. Founded in 1925, Maryland Electric began as a small residential contractor in the Midwest. Since then, it has relocated to #Nashville and experienced significant growth while staying true to the family values established decades ago. They offer comprehensive electrical solutions, including design, construction, and installation. Rita Dancey, the CEO of Maryland Electric, is a third-generation electrical contractor. Her journey started in high school, where she gained expertise in hands-on electrical service before assuming her current leadership role. Rita's dedication to inspiring women and the younger generation to explore careers in the electrical workforce is a testament to her leadership and vision for the industry. Maryland Electric is supplying power generation equipment for the new Nissan Stadium project and all temporary power for the jobsite trailer compound, which is affectionately called Titans Town. We are proud to recognize the diverse small businesses that are playing a crucial role in the success of the new Nissan Stadium project. Their unique approaches and perspectives drive progress and set new industry standards. Together with the Tennessee Titans, TBA is committed to establishing a legacy of inclusion, opportunity, and empowerment, inspiring future generations of diverse leaders in the workforce. Check out this video to discover how Maryland Electric is powering the new Nissan Stadium. #NewNissanStadium #Diversity #Inclusion #SmallBusiness

Happy #InternationalWomensDay and final day of #WICWeek2024! I’m proud that Mortenson’s commitment to inclusion and community empowerment goes beyond the numbers. Hear from Rita Dancey, CEO of Maryland Electric Company, as she highlights the importance of investing back into the community at GEODIS Park: https://lnkd.in/gn_Ecp6R
Community Empowerment is our day five theme for #WICWeek2024, and with that in mind, we want to talk about our Mortenson community of team members! With pride, we can share that the percentage of women on our teams is above the industry average and while we’re happy to exceed the norm, we also know we have a long way to go. Have you told the women in your life how much you enjoy construction? If not, we challenge you to start those conversations now so we can continue to increase the number of amazing women in our industry!
