Today kicks off a new MPT initiative by inaugurating the Maryland Center for Media Literacy & Education (MCMLE). The center launches with a live event in The Irene and Edward H. Kaplan Production Studio at 11 am. An outgrowth of our Education Division, the MCMLE will address the challenges and impacts of today’s media-saturated society and support the well-being of Maryland citizens. Center programs and resources will help Marylanders effectively navigate media in a complex digital world. The event is hosted by Frank Sesno, former CNN correspondent, anchor, and Washington bureau chief, and current director of strategic initiatives and professor at the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University. He's joined by Kelsey Russell, a national media literacy influencer and co-host of First Stop News. Attendees will hear from special guests Maryland First Lady Dawn Moore, FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez, and Sheppard Pratt President and CEO Harsh K. Trivedi, M.D. Visit https://lnkd.in/e_p-VUh2 for more information. Watch the one-hour live event at mpt.org/media-literacy/.
