Last month, Main Street managers from across Maryland gathered in Hagerstown to connect, share, and explore revitalization efforts. The day included a walking tour of key projects such as Updegraff & Baile Cask & Kettle, Hub City Parking Garage & Meritus Park, and Les Cookies Delight, highlighting over $100 million in investment and the power of partnerships. The tour also included stops at Hub City Vinyl, the largest record store in Maryland, and Gardenbelle Shop, showcasing successful small-business practices. The group enjoyed lunch at Sofrito Puerto Rican Cuisine and learned about Market Walk’s exciting plans, supported by a Community Health & Safety grant. A big thank you to the City of Hagerstown for hosting and sharing their incredible work!

DHCD is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the CDA Lending and Risk Analyst position within the Division of Development Finance. Qualified candidates would have seven years of experience evaluating the risk involved in granting single-family, multifamily, and commercial loans, government assistance programs, and/or construction management. State and local leaders have announced a $3.3 million investment to support the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis (HACA) and improve affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families. This funding—including $300K from DHCD’s FY25 Community Legacy funds—will help address maintenance backlogs and enhance housing conditions for residents. Thank you to U.S. Rep.
