  • The traditional tax return as we know it will soon be a relic of the past! This week we dive deeper 🤿 with Global Government Forum to learn more how digital technologies are dramatically easing the process of paying taxes, while providing invaluable data to finance departments around the globe. At the GGF Finance Summit Ruth Kennedy, Revenue Commissioner at Ireland’s tax and customs agency, championed “natural taxation,” advocating for tax systems to fit seamlessly around businesses' and workers' existing practices, streamlining processes and utilising direct data sources. Marine Khurtsidze, Head of the Tax and Customs Policy Department at Georgia’s Ministry of Finance, highlighted Georgia's efforts to simplify and digitise tax administration, reducing the number of taxes from 22 to six and implementing personal web portals for electronic tax returns and management that streamline the constituent experience. 📖 Hear more from other civil service leaders on the remarkable progress governments have made in how they assess and collect tax revenues in the third of a five-part report from the Global Government Forum Finance Summit below. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gx84S36w

I’m honored to share that #Mastercard has partnered with Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railways Company Limited (HURC1) to enable cashless payments in Ho Chi Minh City’s public transport system, including the first urban railway line, Metro Line No. 01, Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien that was launched today. This landmark initiative not only transforms public transportation in Ho Chi Minh City but also marks a pivotal step towards building a #CashlessSociety and fostering #DigitalTransformation in Vietnam. Through this strategic partnership, Mastercard is enabling modern EMV card acceptance and Tap&Go technology across all 14 stations along the metro line, allowing commuters to just tap and go using physical cards or devices in a seamless and secure way. With over 270 advanced point-of-sale terminals installed, passengers can now experience the convenience and efficiency of cashless payments, while helping to reduce congestion and improve air quality in the city.
