Today we announce Carlos Robles-Medranda, M.D, FASGE, AGAF and his dedicated team at the Instituto Ecuatoriano de Enfermedades Digestivas (IECED) located within OMNI Hospital in Guayaquil, Ecuador, successfully performed more than 700 advanced endoscopic procedures utilizing Cellvizio over the past 18 months. Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) is a rare lung disease where surfactant proteins build up in the lungs. While often slow-processing, it can be serious. This study highlights how pCLE can detect PAP even in mild cases, where standard biopsies might be difficult and may help avoid invasive biopsies. « 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝟑𝟎 𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐪𝐮’𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞 » Ce mercredi, Sacha Loiseau était l’invité exceptionnel de notre second Campus Insight depuis la rentrée. 👨⚕️ Physicien de formation, titulaire d'un doctorat en astrophysique et en instrumentation optique, Sacha est fondateur et CEO de Mauna Kea Technologies, où il a développé des innovations révolutionnaires comme l’endomicroscopie confocale (la fameuse technologie attendue depuis 30 ans) et piloté le développement de la gamme de produits Cellvizio. 🗣️ Sacha a partagé avec nous son parcours d'entrepreneur et d'investisseur, entre France et Etats-Unis : du lancement de Mauna Kea aux premières levées de fonds, en passant par le sujet des essais cliniques, les différences de réglementation d’un pays à l’autre et les embûches potentielles et multiples qui peuvent se dresser sur le chemin des entrepreneurs… Parmi les conseils à retenir : ➡️ Être patient, car l’adoption réelle d’une technologie peut prendre plusieurs années, quel que soit son taux d’early adoption (et même quand elle est attendue depuis 30 ans) ➡️ Être « international from day one » et se tourner vers les autres pays le plus tôt possible ➡️ Croire en son innovation et à sa capacité à attirer les investisseurs, en toute circonstance et même en cas de vents contraires (car les vents peuvent tourner et/ou vous surprendre agréablement) Sacha Loiseau a également évoqué les projets dans lesquels il est impliqué aujourd’hui, comme Therapixel, une solution d’IA issue d’Inria qui va révolutionner le diagnostic du cancer du sein, ou Elaia, l'un des fonds de capital-risque les plus influents en Europe. Un récit passionnant d’un homme qui l’est tout autant, et dont le parcours est de nature à inspirer chaque entrepreneur et innovateur. Nous en sommes ressortis riches de nombreux enseignements.
