🌿 Top 5 Things to Know About the New Rules as a Facilitator Under the Colorado Regulated Psilocybin Program🌿 1. Facilitator License Requirements To be licensed as a facilitator, you must complete 150 hours of training through an approved program, 40 hours of supervised practicum, and 50 hours of consultation with experienced professionals. These are key steps to ensure the quality of facilitation services. 2. Wellness vs. Clinical Facilitators A "Wellness Facilitator" cannot practice medicine or psychotherapy, whereas a "Clinical Facilitator" must hold an active medical or behavioral health license. Each role has different requirements but both provide critical support for those engaging with natural medicine. 3. Accelerated Licensure for Legacy Healers Experienced facilitators with practical knowledge but no formal credentials can qualify through the Accelerated Licensure pathway. You’ll need at least 200 hours of facilitation experience and must meet certain ethics training requirements. 4. Record Keeping is Essential Facilitators are required to maintain participant records for three years, conduct safety screenings, and ensure proper documentation of any medical consultations or adverse health effects. Keeping thorough records is critical for compliance. 5. Informed Consent is Mandatory Facilitators must provide written informed consent that includes the nature of services, potential risks, and the participant’s right to withdraw consent. Clear communication with participants is key to ethical practice.
