Next stop:📍Arizona! We stopped by Tucson to meet the Dias Family. Their McDonald's journey started with Paul M. Dias (a.k.a. dad), who got a job as restaurant crew at his local McDonald's in Sacramento when he was 16 years old. He quickly climbed the ranks and eventually purchased his first McDonald's restaurant in Colorado. But when an opportunity arose in Arizona, he took a chance and now operates 23 restaurants in the area. His daughters Megan Dias and Lindsey Dias followed in his footsteps after college: Megan is a general manager, Lindsey is a shift manager, and they're both aspiring #franchisees. 💛 #familybusiness #franchise

We took a trip to McDonald’s Global Headquarters Test Kitchen to build our own sundae charcuterie board – featuring McDonald’s Korea’s 100% #recycled PET (#rPET) cups and lids, an industry-first initiative. rPET containers are available nationwide for drive-thru and takeout orders in #Korea and help reduce carbon #emissions by about 59%. This is just one step in McDonald’s Korea’s plan to convert all #packaging to recyclable and reusable materials by the end of 2024. Sweet and more #sustainable – sounds delicious to us! 🍦😋

Young Jenna Yadav never imagined she’d be where she is today with McDonald’s. She started her #career at her local restaurant in London while enrolled in secondary school. During her time there, she made meaningful connections with fellow restaurant crew members and the customers she served. One year later, ➡️ she became shift manager, where she dove deeper into the business. Six years later, ➡️ she was offered a role within our Corporate Bridge placement program based in the Global Shoreditch Office. Today ➡️ Jenna sits on the McDonald’s Corporate IDL Deployment team, where she helps European countries transform their restaurant #technology to make life easier for crew and customers. You make the Arches shine brighter, Jenna! 💛 #growth #careerjourney

McDonald’s Indonesia is making impactful strides against our global ambitions to operate more sustainably, guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In partnership with development licensee partner PT Rekso Nasional Food, the Indonesia market has achieved meaningful #progress, including: 🥤 Reducing the use of single-use plastic #packaging and made the transition to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper packaging, curtailing the use of plastic straws and replacing them with sealer lids for takeaway, drive-thru and delivery drinks. 🌏 Converting used cooking oil into a #renewableenergy source (biodiesel) that has been certified by the government, helping to prevent environmental pollution. ⚡️ Using LED lighting in all (!) McDonald’s Indonesia restaurants to conserve #energy. 🚛 Implementing efficiency measures on raw material delivery routes from suppliers to restaurants to help reduce #carbonemissions. In June 2024, one of McDonald’s Indonesia newest restaurants located on Jalan Ampera, South Jakarta, successfully obtained Green Building certification from the Indonesian government, marking the first time this recognition has been awarded in the food and beverage industry. Various, more sustainable elements have been incorporated, and are expected to help reduce energy consumption by at least 25% energy use.
