Trump administration #executiveorders seek to deregulate #artificialintelligence: The first few weeks of the Trump administration saw a significant shift in the #AI sector. President Trump’s executive orders took direct aim at Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence (EO 14110), issued by President Biden in October 2023. On Feb. 12, the Trump administration rescinded the Department of Education Office for Civil Rights’ guidance on how it planned to analyze name, image and likeness activity under #Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. McGuireWoods LLP served as lead counsel to Sol Systems in the $345 million financing of the historic Tilden Solar project, a 182-megawatt #solar facility in Randolph County, Illinois. The project will transform a 1,050-acre subsurface mine site into a #renewableenergy asset that will produce enough clean energy to power approximately 33,800 Illinois homes annually. McGuireWoods lawyers from multiple practices and offices advised Sol Systems on construction financing and tax equity financing for the project. On Jan. 21, Indiana legislators introduced a new bill in the Indiana House of Representatives targeting #healthcaretransaction reporting and #healthcare provider ownership disclosures. The bill proposes to expand on the existing Indiana transaction reporting law, which went into effect July 1, 2024, turning Indiana from a reporting state to an approval state.
