In November, Left on Read will become home to The Millennial Black Professor® | TMBP Media. 📚 Left on Read is the manifestation of a vision for community engagement, creative expression, and cultural enrichment. A space where representation is amplified, perspective is cultivated, and the community is empowered. And, at its core, Left on Read is a bookstore.
Liberation is the theme for Banned Books Week 2024. At Left on Read, we believe books are powerful tools for liberation. Yet, book bans continue to disproportionately silence systemically marginalized voices, making it harder to learn, grow, and connect. As we prepare to open our doors, we reflect on how censorship limits individual stories and collective understanding.
📖 This Banned Books Week, we stand with those fighting to protect stories that challenge, teach, and inspire meaningful conversations. Liberation is about access; when we set books free, we unlock the ideas within them, creating opportunities for growth, understanding, and the freedom to engage with diverse perspectives. ✊🏾
Join us in celebrating the freedom to read by exploring banned books this week, and mark your calendars for November 30! 🎉 #SetBooksFree #BannedBooksWeek #LeftOnRead #FreedomToRead #SupportBooks #IntellectualFreedom
