  • "MGM 2049," the newest production at the MGM Cotai Theater, is a groundbreaking sci-fi experience that merges cutting-edge technology with the rich heritage of traditional Chinese culture. Directed by the renowned Zhang Yimou, this visionary show offers a glimpse into a future where #innovation and tradition come together to captivate audiences. At the center of this spectacle is the MGM Cotai Theater's iconic 4K LED video wall—the largest and most adaptable in the world. This state-of-the-art screen redefines immersive storytelling, wrapping audiences in a visual masterpiece that elevates the narrative to new heights. Designed by our Entertainment Engineering team, the 200-foot-wide LED wall envelops nearly half the #theater, showcasing dynamic capabilities like Proscenium and Immersion modes. These allow seamless transitions from classic stage setups to fully immersive environments, amplifying the show's impact. With synchronized moving panels, precision automated actuators, and an impressively narrow 2mm gap, the design delivers a flawless visual experience. Don't miss "2049" at MGM Cotai — a landmark event where the future of entertainment #technology is showcased and experienced. https://lnkd.in/eK99hinY

  • Exciting progress is underway at the Watershed Community Center in Anne Arundel County, MD! Our Baltimore #StructuralEngineering team has been hard at work bringing this vibrant community hub to life with thoughtful, site-specific designs. The two-story, 5,500-square-foot clubhouse will feature a fitness room, locker room, great room, flex space, and an elevated patio overlooking the community’s pool—creating a welcoming space for neighbors to gather, exercise, and unwind. Our team tackled the project’s structural challenges, designing critical retaining walls, a mass timber glulam framework for the clubhouse, and two additional structures: an adjacent pool house with integrated retaining walls and an open-air wood-framed overlook pavilion with a pyramid-shaped roof. By combining functionality with design #innovation, we’ve ensured the structural stability and longevity of this community centerpiece while enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Stay tuned for more updates as #construction progresses! Rendering courtesy of Design Collective, Inc.

  • What do you get when you mix Structural Engineering, cutting-edge technology, and two of NYC's most recognizable brands? A holiday #display like no other. This holiday season, our Entertainment Engineering team partnered with BNW Rigging to bring an impressive concept to life atop Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store on 5th Avenue. The custom 46-foot-wide truss supports multiple projectors aimed across the street, transforming the Louis Vuitton storefront into a whimsical display of their iconic trunks. The coolest part? The truss features a self-climbing system, allowing the projectors to be safely installed at standing level before being lifted into place with motors. Our team focused on the structure’s stability, designing it to withstand NYC’s intense seasonal wind and snow loads—ensuring this #holiday display keeps the magic shining bright all winter long Check out this dazzling projection show running through the winter season and stay tuned for more of our holiday display projects lighting up #NYC

  • Construction is nearing completion on both the Fulton Avenue Bridge and South Street Bridge in Mount Vernon, NY. As part of a #DesignBuild team with ECCO III Enterprises, Inc., McLaren was responsible for designing both replacement bridges and a section of the retaining wall along Pearl Street. In addition to providing the city with two new #resilient bridges, the project will enhance traffic flow, pedestrian circulation, and access to the Metro-North Railroad’s Mount Vernon East Station, located near Fulton Avenue.  Our Bridge, Civil, Geomatics, and Geotechnical teams have contributed to the project, providing planning, design, and construction support services, including bridge and roadway design, and right-of-way (ROW) surveying and mapping. Additionally, our #ConstructionEngineering team provided temporary works and Support of Excavation (SOE) services to help bring the project to successful completion.   For a behind-the-scenes look at the replacement process, check out our "Stories from the Field,” where one of our own construction engineers takes you inside the Fulton Street Bridge replacement project. https://lnkd.in/dhTvu4Gb

  • NYC leads the charge in redefining urban #infrastructure, from port electrification to offshore wind and resilient green spaces, and we're right there with it. At Infraday East, we connected with leaders from various agencies across #NYC to discuss upcoming initiatives and analyze the progress of long-term modernization efforts. From combating #ClimateChange to pioneering new solutions in transportation, stormwater management, connectivity, and micromobility, we are learning and adapting. These discussions are invaluable as they guide us in refining our engineering solutions to better serve our communities.

  • Located at the heart of Bryant Park's Winter Village, the #PopUp glass greenhouse tents form a focal point, linking the seasonal ice-skating rink with an array of charming shops and eateries. Our entertainment engineering team conducted structural analyses of these three large #temporary tent structures, which tower from 99 to 115 feet. Designed to withstand the challenging #NYC winter weather, including snow, wind, and freezing temperatures, each tent is anchored by a robust ballast system.
