The AEC brings together 5000+ people within the field of medical education from across the globe. Dr. Stevens’ presentation, Getting the Hang of It: Tools for Institutional Coordinator Organization & Prioritization, showcased how McLaren Health Care’s Graduate Medical Education Committee provides oversight to their medical education programs to meet and exceed ACGME standards.

McLaren Health Care recently hosted its 3rd Annual Academic Affairs Retreat. The Retreat brought 130+ program directors, faculty, program administrators, and medical education leaders from across McLaren together for a full day educational session. Two of the sessions were hosted by members of the McLaren Oakland team, including Aubin Whitmer, Medical Education Manager, Dr. Kevin Carter, Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program Director, and Dr. Stephanie Schwartz, Diagnostic Radiology Chief Resident, who presented on Health Beyond Hospitals: Educating Residents on Health Disparities, and Dr. Christopher Corbin, Behavioral Health Academic Program Director, (pictured alongside Dr. Jennifer Carty of McLaren Macomb) who presented on Fostering Healthy Learners: A Guide to Practical Implementation.
