The program focuses on setting students up for success by providing a structured pathway that equips participants with essential skills for meaningful careers in public service. DGS participated in a State Job Fair at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore. By 10:00 a.m., hundreds of people were already lined up, eager to enter the event, which anticipated more than 4,000 job seekers throughout the day. Our human resources team engaged with hundreds of attendees, sharing information about the wide range of positions available at DGS.

Yesterday at the Governor’s Minority and Small Business Outreach Summit, DGS proudly led sessions designed to empower small and minority-owned businesses! Our team shared valuable insights into the wide range of state contracting opportunities available and provided practical guidance on how to successfully pursue them. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with entrepreneurs, share valuable insights, and empower small and minority-owned businesses to thrive. From navigating procurement processes to accessing new opportunities, we were thrilled to support the growth of our business community. Today, Governor Wes Moore kicked off the Governor’s Minority & Small Business Outreach Summit, hosted by DGS, Maryland Department of Transportation, and the University System of Maryland, at the Hilton Inner Harbor in Baltimore. Over 700 representatives from businesses across the state took advantage of the opportunity to connect with state decision-makers and learn about $7 billion in contracting opportunities.

DGS participated in the Governor’s Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Open House on Friday, November 15, in Crownsville. During the event, representatives from DGS had the opportunity to speak with individuals who are Deaf, DeafBlind, and have hearing loss to discuss the programs the Maryland Department of General Services offers the community.
