Agency Spotlight: Legal Aid of North Carolina Mecklenburg County faces a significant justice gap: in 2023, an estimated 77,000 low-income residents experienced civil legal issues, yet resources allowed Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) to address only a fraction of these cases. While organizations like LANC, Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy (CCLA), Council for Children’s Rights, and Safe Alliance work tirelessly to meet this demand, the combined effort falls short. However, the community has taken an innovative approach to bridging this gap through the Charlotte Triage Pro Bono Partnership. Read more about the how Charlotte Triage is harnessing the power of pro bono and how to register for the Access to Justice Breakfast in the latest Mecklenburg Bar News or at MeckBar.org/spotlight-LANC. #mymeckbar Helen Hobson, Larissa Mañón Mervin
