Meet Andrea Papp, AirCare II, a Med-Trans affiliate, pilot, Veteran and trailblazer in the skies. With women making up less than 10% of pilots in the U.S., Andrea hopes to inspire the next generation to take flight. “While I have never truly felt any biases with my male coworkers throughout my career – the data is clear. There is still plenty of potential for women to thrive in aviation and EMS,” said Papp. “I also think this is one of the most fulfilling and exciting jobs a person can have, so my hope is for more women to have the experiences and growth it has allowed for me.” As we celebrate, Women of Aviation Week, Andrea reminds us that the sky isn’t the limit – it’s just the beginning. Our Air Evac Lifeteam and Med-Trans Corporation teams are proud to be the first and only air medical providers to bring plasma to every corner of Oklahoma. Full implementation is anticipated by the end of 2025, with this service equipping all air medical helicopters with the life-saving blood component, plasma, ensuring critical care is available at a moment's notice. This National Blood Donor Month, we recognize the vital role that blood donors play in saving lives, and we are committed to supporting our communities by providing essential resources when and where they are needed. “Being first in Oklahoma to offer this service is about more than innovation—it’s about equity,” said Francis Lewis, regional director for GMR. “For many rural residents, access to care isn’t a given.
