MedChi will host a Legislative Kickoff Reception on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Acqua Al 2 Ristorante in Historic Downtown Annapolis. This annual event marks the start of the Maryland General Assembly session and provides a unique opportunity for physicians, members, medical society leaders, and policymakers to engage in meaningful dialogue about health policy and other key issues. Last night at the Wicomico County Medical Society Physicans who are MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society members heard from Senators Johny Matuz and Mary Beth Carozza as well as Deelgates Christopher Adams and Sheree Sample-Hughes on what they saw for the upcoming 2025 session.

MedChi's latest physician salary survey indicates that pay gaps still persist between male and female physicians in Maryland. Conducted by Berkeley Research Group’s Healthcare Transactions & Strategy practice, on behalf of MedChi, the survey tracks compensation, benefits, and practice metrics of Maryland physicians with a new emphasis on measuring transparency in compensation structures. It benchmarks compensation among Maryland physicians by gender, age, ethnicity and practice status, and also examines how Maryland physicians compensation has changed since the pandemic.
