About us

MedGlobal is a humanitarian charitable non-governmental organization that provides emergency response and health programs to build resilience among vulnerable communities around the world. Our health programs support victims of wars and disasters, refugees, internally displaced persons, and marginalized communities in disaster-affected and low-resource settings. MedGlobal was launched in 2017 by a diverse group of doctors, nurses, global health specialists, and humanitarians to address the health needs of the most vulnerable populations. MedGlobal partners with local communities to address their health priorities, builds resilience through training and education and deploys healthcare volunteers, and donates medical equipment, medications and supplies. MedGlobal field teams support local health programs for vulnerable populations in North and Latin America, Africa, MENA region, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Our growing field teams and partner organizations are supported by selfless volunteer nurses, and medical professionals of all specialties from 27 countries who embrace our mission.

Clashes between armed groups in Catatumbo, Colombia have resulted in massive displacements, human rights violations, and civilian and combatant casualties.   President Gustavo Petro has declared a State of Economic Emergency and Internal Disturbance, with needs that range from ambulances to personnel to cleaning and preserving safe water.   MedGlobal is already on the ground, working with local government teams to provide aid.   Join us as we offer help and safety to the men, women and children caught in the crossfire: medglobal.org/donate/

  • In the midst of unimaginable challenges, MedGlobal is standing strong for mental health in Ukraine. By addressing the psychological toll of war, we empower individuals to rebuild their lives and communities. Using innovative initiatives like workshops for families of missing persons, we are fostering healing, resilience, and hope. • We are overjoyed to share a heartwarming milestone from the Souran medical center in Aleppo Governorate in Syria: We’ve welcomed our 1,000th precious newborn into the world! This moment fills us with immense pride and gratitude for our dedicated medical team, whose compassion and commitment have made it possible. It also reflects the strength and resilience of the community we serve. Stand with us as we welcome more lives into the world and bring medical aid to all Syrians: https://ow.ly/Cceo50ULYYR

  • A ceasefire has been declared in Gaza. But the road to recovery is long, and the need for immediate medical aid remains critical. MedGlobal is on the ground, delivering much-needed medications to Al Adwa Hospital. There, they’ll provide maternal and health services to vulnerable women and children. But there is so much more to do. Together, we can rebuild, restore and heal the people of Gaza: medglobal.org/donate/

  • MedGlobal is excited to announce our partnership with the Middle East and North Africa Clinical Toxicology Association (MENATOX) for MENATOX 2025. This event provides toxicologists, physicians, medical students, public health professionals and others working in medical fields a chance to network with and learn from international experts in the field of toxicology. In addition to a wide variety of expert speakers and symposiums, MedGlobal will be presenting our Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (CBRN) Train the Trainer course. This year's gathering will take place February 23 – 26 in Muscat, Oman. For more information on sessions and registration, go here: https://lnkd.in/dx6q3ry7

  • President of MedGlobal Dr. Zaher Sahloul talks to CBS News Chicago about the potential ceasefire in Gaza and what will be required for the rebuilding process in the days and years to come. “What has been destroyed will takes years, if not generations to be rebuilt. The suffering and the trauma will take generations to be healed. But at least we have a starting point, where hopefully you have the release of the detainees and the hostages, we have a stoppage of the war and the bombing and the missiles, and maybe people can start to think of their future and life and education and healthcare as we do here in Chicago.”

  • Gaza is at a critical juncture, with hopeful calls for a ceasefire. However, the fight for the freedom of Medical Director Dr. Husam Abu Safiya and other MedGlobal medical staff continues. Here’s what we know, what remains uncertain, what actions we’re taking, and how you can help.
