Our Safe Babies Safe Moms program has been awarded the 2024 Vincent C. Gray Health Equity Award, presented by the District of Columbia Hospital Association (DCHA). Safe Babies Safe Moms is a partnership between MedStar Health, Community of Hope, and Mamatoto Village, to address disparities in maternal and infant care in Washington, D.C. The program offers a comprehensive array of services to support birthing people and their families before, during, and after pregnancy and until the child reaches age three. Vincent C. Gray received the inaugural award in 2023 and the award is now named after him to honor his years of service to D.C. DCHA believes that it is vital to share examples of innovative approaches to health equity and shine a light on individuals and organizations that work to improve access to quality health care in their communities.
