More formalized workplace policies could help family caregivers navigate dual roles. According to McKnight's Senior Living, 11 states have adopted policies that piggyback on the Family and Medical Leave Act to include care for parents, grandparents and other adults.

New research from Grayce shows that nearly 75% of employees are balancing caregiving responsibilities with full-time jobs. Nearly half of employees report taking several days off work to attend to caregiving responsibilities. The results emphasize the need for solutions to better support employees caring for an ill or older family member.
