About us
The team at Merchant McIntyre & Associates has more than 100 years of combined experience in federal and private grant funding, drafting and tracking legislation, securing regulatory relief, policy development and advocacy, relationship building, and mobilizing grassroots and grasstops campaigns. We have an established track record of successfully representing and advising educational and research institutions, healthcare organizations, local and state governments, social service and faith-based organizations, businesses and corporations, innovators, and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs). When you retain Merchant McIntyre, you hire an entire team of seasoned professionals with decades of senior level experience gained from working in the White House, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, Executive Branch agencies, and government affairs firms. We are an extension of your own staff. We are your boots on the ground. We perform the lion's share of the work. If you have ever attended a major political event or a government hearing, we were not the people you would have seen at the microphone. We were the people in the back of the room who determined the message, wrote the speeches, and handled all of the follow up. In short, we got the work done. We know the logistics of Washington, the mechanics and timing of the process, the right doors to open, and the decision-makers to engage. We know how Washington works. As true partners, we will put Washington to work for you.

Merchant McIntyre has proudly partnered with Northwest Kansas Technical College (now Fort Hays Tech-Northwest) since 2019. Will Hoing and Thomas Corddry had the opportunity to visit the Northwest team in Goodland, KS last month to tour the Kansas Institute of Diesel Technology and see firsthand the impact of a $1.2 million U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant on Northwest students and faculty. The initiative is substantially increasing the number of skilled diesel and automotive technicians moving into the Kansas workforce. The EDA grant is one of many partnerships Northwest now enjoys with federal agencies, working together with funders to create jobs and advance workforce initiatives in the region.

Merchant McIntyre extends our thanks to the Business for Impact team at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business for the incredible opportunity to participate in their New Strategies Program. Founder and Principal, Brent Merchant, had the opportunity to speak to the September 2024 cohort of non-profit executives. Brent was honored to share his expertise on securing federal funding, offering insights into effective strategies and the practical realities of navigating this complex process. It was an amazing experience to engage with such a passionate group of non-profit leaders committed to driving impact in their respective communities. We are grateful to the New Strategies Program, specifically Tanya Smith-Evans and Ladan Manteghi, for leading a program that fosters learning, innovation, and impact. Thank you for allowing us to contribute to this important conversation!
