Why does my AC smell like rotten eggs?? I got to tell you when that question popped up I found it a little odd because typically when we have concerns about smell from the air conditioning, we will either have a like dirty sock (athletic department) type smell and that is usually some mold or bacteria build up because of the heat. Otherwise we could have more of a sweet smell and that typically is cuz we have a leak from the heater core and we're getting engine coolant inside the vehicle. https://lnkd.in/gg_a3686

Why don't my Wiper Blades clean my Windshield well? I thought I'd give you a couple of tips today. First of all take a look at your wiper blade and see is the rubber still flexible or is it really stiff? If it's really stiff, some fresh blades are probably in order, especially here in Mesa, Arizona we tend to see them dry rot. https://lnkd.in/gmF_2KqJ

Why does Cruise Control have a mind of its own?! I like to share just kind of some unusual problems that we might see in the shop and so we had a mid-2000s Toyota 4Runner come in. With the cruise control on, the client said it would be beautiful and then all the sudden it would speed up and then it slow back down and then sometimes it would just shut off. https://lnkd.in/gtp52SV2

How to check if a Brake Booster is working. So there's a couple of different kinds of brake boosters. We have ones that are vacuum controlled and so engine vacuum helps those work. Then there's ones that are hydraulically controlled and then we also have some electronics that can be involved. What a brake booster does is help you with the amount of effort you have to push on the pedal. So it makes it easier to stop your car. https://lnkd.in/gaAj_DZw

What does ABS mean? People also typically ask, "Can I drive with my ABS light is on?" So first of all let me say if you choose to drive with it on, I'm not going to give you my advice because it's going to be whether you feel comfortable or not. I want to first address, most of our dashboard warning lights are color coded. If they are blue or green, they're some sort of information and it's okay to keep driving the car. If they're yellow, it means drive with caution and get it in for service as soon as you can. If they're red, it means stop the car and get out. So if the light is yellow, then drive with caution and get it looked at. https://lnkd.in/g-xwc8Db

Where can I find my tire expiration date? So let me start by saying tires don't have an expiration date. Tires have a manufactured date. It's on one side of the tire so it depends on whether the tires mounted with that number on the outside or the inside as whether you can see it or not. So what you're looking for is you're looking for the letters "DOT" for Department of Transportation. Then there will be a bunch of other codes and then typically you'll have an oval and in that oval is going to be a four digit code. So this particular one is 2923 that means it's the 29th week of 2023. https://lnkd.in/gvZHpfmj

Why does my car battery keep draining? So if the battery keeps dying and the battery's healthy (so you got to have that checked) then we probably have something draining the battery. A light can be on, it could be something as simple as a problem with one of your visors in the vanity light staying on and you don't know it. We could have a problem with the computer not turning off any number of things that keep the battery draining when the cars are turned off. There's a test called a parasitic draw test that we can do and we want the amperage to be very minimum. How can I improve my vehicle's fuel efficiency? One last thing that can help fuel efficiency is road resistance. How hard is it for the vehicle to roll down the road? So if your tire pressures are low that can decrease your fuel efficiency as well. So getting your tire pressure is right where they're supposed to be can also help. So it's really not that complicated driving habits are the most effect on fuel efficiency.
